Workshop on Community Health in North Queensland

30 May 2016, 1:00pm - 30 May 2016, 5:00pm

An interdisciplinary dialogue about the evidence base for investment

Cairns Institute, JCU Cairns

Ground Floor - Room D3:063

Scientists are traditionally trained to specialise in searching for causation through evidence-led enquiry.
Which preconditions of good health or of ill health are most fundamental and most ripe for remedial investment?
Is poor diet, vitamin deficiency, parasite load, socio-economic disadvantage, discrimination, poor education or lack of physical activity most likely to influence poor health at population level?
Which investments in health work best for individuals?
Does intensive and personalised support for self- management of chronic and life threatening conditions improve health outcomes?

Attendance is free but spaces are limited, please register your attendance online
