International Day of the Tropics

29 June 2017, 12:00am - 29 June 2017, 11:00pm

Celebrate living and working in the Tropics by joining our International Day of the Tropics social media campaign.

International Day of the Tropics on the 29th June and be in the running to WIN $100!

The International Day of the Tropics helps shine a light on the significant opportunities and challenges faced by the nations of the Tropics, and the global implications of the rapid changes that the region is experiencing.

It’s held on the 29th of June – the anniversary of the release of the first State of the Tropics report, which was launched by Nobel Laureate Aung San Suu Kyi in 2014.

It’s also a chance for us to celebrate living in the Tropics.

So, this year, like last year, we’d like your help to highlight the diversity and potential of the Tropics using a fun and inclusive social media campaign where you’ll also be in the running to WIN a $100 Eftpos gift card.

To celebrate the upcoming International Day of the Tropics and for your chance to WIN:

  1. Take a photo of yourself and/or your colleagues anywhere in the Tropics with the attached #WeAreTheTropics print out.
  2. Post your photo to Twitter, Facebook, Instagram or other social media, making sure you tag James Cook University and @AITropHealthMed and include #WeAreTheTropics in the post so we can see your great photos.
  3. Alternatively you can send photos directly to socialmedia@jcu.edu.au and we’ll post it on social media for you.

We’ll announce one lucky winner of the competition on International Day of the Tropics.

Let’s show the rest of the world just how passionate we are about living in the Tropics!

Thanks in advance,

The Marketing team
