Round one successful projects announced

AITHM recently announced details of the successful first round of Capacity Building Funds, providing 16 projects for tropical health and medicine projects.

Made possible with $1.5 million of funding from the Department of Science, Information Technology and Innovation (DSITI), AITHM’s Director, Professor Louis Schofield explained that the “purpose of these grants is to assist in building research networks and capacity for AITHM scientists in the field of tropical health and medicine”.

After an intensely competitive selection process, the range of projects chosen for funding offers a broad scope of intended benefit for the wellbeing of those living in tropical regions.

“There’s great scope for additional investment in high quality tropical health and medicine research and this is something AITHM aims hopes to achieve in the second round of Capacity Building Funds (link to second article) with applications closing on 16 May 2016,” Professor Schofield said.
