Congratulations to AITHM research Dr Sandip Kamath, who represented Australia at the FameLab International – Talking Science grand final!
Beginning in 2005 in the UK, Famelab is a communications competition where young scientists take to the stage to inform and engage an audience with a three-minute scientific talk.
Following his win in the Australian finals in May of this year, Sandip travelled to the international finals in June to Cheltenham, UK. With 27 participating countries. Sandip made it the grand final (top 8 countries) with his presentation about treating food allergies, featuring plastic lobsters, balloons and a police hat as props.
“Participating in the FameLab International finals was an exhilarating experience, competing against science communicators from 26 countries, and being selected in the top 8. It was a great feeling to be representing an entire nation at the grand final,” said Dr Sandip Kamath.
