Obtaining project funding is critical for a successful career in research. This workshop will offer the essential insight and skills needed to develop a funding application in an important area of research.
Different types of grants (including fellowships and research project schemes offered by government and industry) will be discussed.
Skills will be developed in identifying appropriate funding bodies and developing successful project proposals.
This workshop will help you to:
- Create every element of a strong grant applications
- Use a variety of funding research tools to find funders most likely to support your project
- Review proposals the way funders do, so you will understand what works and what doesn’t, and why
- Collaborate with others to plan an effective research program
- Get constructive feedback from the Deans and Associate Deans of Research to make your application as strong as possible
This workshop will include scientists, which are presenting their experiences and can be directly questioned about specific issues of grant applications.
Experience includes NHMRC-Fellowship; ARC Future Fellowship; ARC Discovery grants; ARC-Linkage Grants; NHMRC Project grants; Rural Industry Research & Development Corporation grant; Cancer Cleeouncil; Queensland specific grants; JCU specific grants; Industry funding and Contract research. In addition the JCU Research Office will be present for questions.
