Sustainable Development Goals and One Health in the Tropics
We would like to invite you to attend James Cooke University's (JCU) second World One Health Day Event on the morning of 3 November 2017, 11 - 12 midday at Townsville DB40-105, and also Cairns B001-107 and Singapore TBA (via videolink). The theme "SDG's and One Health in the Tropics" will be a series of "3 minute thesis" presentations by academics at JCU followed by plenary discussion.
One Health Day is an international campaign co-coordinated by the One Health Commission, the One Health Initiative Autonomous pro bono team and the one Health Platform Foundation. The aim of One Health Day is to bring international attention to the need for One Health approaches to global "grand challenges" and to showcase One Health initiatives in action around the world. The One Health Day campaign is designed to engage as many individuals and disciplines as possible in One Health education and awareness events, as transdisciplinarity is a key element of One Health approaches. The day also aims to inspire further development of a wide range of One Health projects and partnerships.
JCU dedicates this annual event to the late Professor Rick Speare.
